01About this service

Sanchari is a campus transport service operated by Saichandan Mettu, in coordination with the IIT Hyderabad Transport Department. It lets members of the IIT Hyderabad community pay a fixed transport service fee and receive a digital boarding pass for campus shuttle and outstation bus services. This policy explains the limited information we handle in that process.

02What we collect

• Booking details: selected route, departure, fare, payment reference and boarding status. Sanchari does not ask for a passenger name or phone number. The payment gateway may collect contact details under its own policy.
• Route and payment reference for the journey you paid for, so your pass can be issued and verified.
• Standard hosting logs and short-lived, hashed network identifiers used to limit automated requests. Staff check-ins record the staff identifier and time. These records are used for service operation and security, not visitor analytics.

03What we do not collect

• No card number, UPI ID or PIN, or bank details ever reach this site. Payment details are entered only in the secure checkout of our payment gateway, a provider regulated by the Reserve Bank of India.
• No cookies, analytics, advertising, or third-party trackers are set by this site. The site uses browser storage to save booking recovery links on your device. Clearing it removes the local list, but does not cancel a booking. The hosted payment checkout has its own storage and privacy practices.

04How we use it

Only to issue and verify your boarding pass, and to respond to support or refund requests. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information for marketing.

05Who we share it with

• Our payment gateway, to process your payment — its handling of payment data is governed by its own privacy policy, available on its website.
• The IIT Hyderabad Transport Department, for operating and verifying travel on its services.
• Where required by law.

06Retention

Pass and payment records are kept only as long as needed for verification, accounting, and dispute resolution, and are then deleted.
