Privacy, Terms & Payments

01What this is

Sanchari is a ticket booking tool for campus shuttle and outstation buses used by the IIT Hyderabad community, developed in coordination with the IIT Hyderabad Transport Department to make bus travel booking faster and easier.

02Privacy — what we collect

We collect the minimum needed to issue a valid ticket, and nothing else:

• Name and phone number, entered at the time of purchase — used only to identify you as the ticket holder to the driver.
• No cookies, analytics, or trackers are set by this app. You can verify this yourself — the site is static HTML/CSS/JS with no third-party scripts other than the payment gateway checkout described below.
• Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamp) are kept temporarily by our hosting provider, as with any website — we don't actively use or analyze these.

We never see, store, or have access to your card number, UPI PIN, or bank details — those go directly to our payment gateway (see below).

03Payments

All payments are processed by a licensed payment gateway regulated by the Reserve Bank of India. When you tap Buy:

• The fare is fixed by our server based on the route — never something you or your browser can alter.
• The payment gateway's own secure checkout opens to collect payment details. This app never touches your card, UPI, or banking information at any point.
• The payment gateway confirms payment directly to our server before a ticket is considered valid.

The payment gateway's handling of your payment data is governed by its own privacy policy, available on its website.

04Refunds & cancellations

Tickets are non-refundable once issued, except where the trip is cancelled or a ticket fails to work through a fault of this app or the operator — in that case, contact us (below) for a refund.

Fares, timings, and routes shown in the app reflect the best available information from operators and are subject to change without notice.

05Terms of use

• This app is provided as a convenience for booking; it does not operate the buses themselves. Delays, cancellations, or service issues caused by transport operators are outside this app's control.
• You're responsible for carrying valid ID and arriving at the boarding point on time, per each route's terms shown in the app.
• We reserve the right to update these terms, the app, or its features at any time.
